TYPES OF CUSTOMISABLE & ON DEMAND PRODUCTS

Customisable Products are a blank canvas and enable the end user to create a completely custom / bespoke product using their own content. To create a template for a customisable product with Gateway CPP you simply upload a picture or drawing of the customisable areas of the product then

• Use your mouse to highlight the customisable area (or areas) of the product – these are Print Areas and must be drawn in same proportions as the actual print area of the product
• If required you can next add image / text areas inside the print areas – for customisable products these are often the same size but they can be used to stop people adding text or images to certain areas
• You can then set the requirements for these areas – for example an image area may need a minimum resolution image
• Colour areas can also be added either for a specific area of the product or for changing the colour of the whole product – these can either be background colours to print or different physical products
• Next you can choose to add effects to a product to emulate a specific decoration technique or change the appearance of a photo
• Other attributes can also be added to a product such as size or packaging option
• Templates can also be created for products like collages where the end user is given a framework to upload their images

Personalised or pre-designed products are when you add a design to the print area on a customised product and an element of that design can be personalised by adding an image or text

Print on Demand products are when you add a fixed design or image to the print area on a customised product. They are a great way to sell a wider range of products without increasing your stock.
