The Custom Product Platform has some very advance features for controlling images that are uploaded onto products.  This is to make is simple for the user to get a quality reproduction of their artwork or photograph and to ensure the production facility has suitable artwork files to take straight to production.

A CPP user setting up products has complete control about the decision how these features can be used that best suits their business.  For image upload the product template can be set up to allow any file to be uploaded and displayed in the live preview of the product.  An alternative method is to set a minimum pixel count for a particular image area.  This allow the App to display a warning message if the uploaded image is below the recommended level.  This can be a really useful feature to ensure all products orders are printed to a commercially acceptable quality without her need to request better quality artwork.  The message can give a recommendation to upload a better file or the user can continue if they wish or the message can block the upload until it meets the minimum requirements. The choice is down the to CPP user setting up the product.

The majority of the files uploaded in the consumer market for personalised products are photographs saved as Jpegs often from smartphones. These are fine for digital production but for products requiring different production method different file types can be required.  To avoid the need for converting or redrawing rasterised files into vector artwork a configuration option can allow only specific file extension.  A user setting up a product for spot colour screen printing can specify that for example only a .EPS or .AI file can be uploaded onto the product and the products description can explain why the specific file type is required.
